New studies are ahead, and you all want to master your studies without burning out. In this article, I tell you about five ways how I mastered or master my studies while staying sane. For more tips, sign up for my monthly newsletter.
1. STAY FOCUSED and Master your Studies
I put this first because the focus is critical for mastering study time and learning new skills. You can train to focus like you train your muscles. As often, I prefer an individual approach to stay focused. Many of you know that I like the Pomodoro-Technique. This technique consists of working chunks of about 20 min and 5-10 min breaks in between. After some scraps, you take a more extended break. If you are a multi-passionate and fidgety person like me, then this is your method. The method helps to stay focused because your brain isn’t overloaded, and it also prevents stress. I can handle more work and feel more productive by taking small breaks instead of bulk-working. In my case, it also prevents headaches that occur from too much concentration and tension. You see, taking breaks to stay focus is a powerful method to master your mind.
2. Plan Ahead – Mindfully
If you want to succeed in your study, you have to plan ahead. Planning mindfully and realistically was nothing that came naturally to me. I used to fill any tiny gap that hadn’t had an appointment, so I got overwhelmed and frustrated. Then a friend, Murielle Marie, taught me how to plan mindfully and regard my daily energy. I planned buffer zones or focused on three projects maximum per day. So I could reduce stress, and my study outcome increased. Mainly, I could remember easier and wasn’t so tired and burnt out.
3. Master Your Studies with Engagement
Engagement with the subject and proactive studying helps to master your energy and benefits your performance. By engaging more rather than consuming content, you will experience positive effects during your study time. To be engaged means to be present, and you need to be present for the optimum learning outcome. If you are more present, you feel more awake and uplifted.
You’ll also discover that you make fewer mistakes in memorising, which leads to better results. It is more effective than mindless repetitions.
4. Increase Your Positive Energy and master your studies
Besides the engagement with your materials, you can bring more positivity into your life because more positivity equals more energy. Celebrate your wins and honour your efforts during study times or reward yourself with something to bring your energy up.
Change your study location to make study time more enjoyable. I love studying outside in the park or in a coffee house and master my study with joy (those who follow me on socials know already).
5. Cooperate with study fellows
The most fun and social way of mastering your study are joining peer groups or building study groups. Studying within a group is more fun, and it increases motivation. Whether a virtual study group or a personal one, join the study party and expand your horizon.
