Pressure can create diamonds. Great for jewel lovers, but usually, too much pressure creates stress in your body and mind. The most important question is how to deal with too much pressure.
I am very sensitive about pressure and have developed several strategies how to deal with pressure. Reducing stress is the goal because stress causes disease. I am convinced that stress weakens the immune system, and in these weird times, I want my immune system to work for me and not against me. So, I take care of my mental health as well as my physical health. Reducing stress and pressure is one crucial step in my self-care routines.
Release too much pressure with Proper breathing
The easiest and fastest method to reduce pressure is to release it with breathing techniques or meditation. Whether you do the box-breathing method (4 in – hold 4 – 4 out – hold 4) or practice deep-breathing techniques doesn’t matter because all practices calm your mind. If you are calm, you can immediately feel the release of stress as well as tension, and soon your body relaxes.
Affirmations for reducing too much pressure
Another powerful technique is to have mantras or positive affirmations. I like creating my affirmations, but there are many resources and collections where you can find ready-to-go affirmations. Use them in a preventive way to train your brain for the emergency because affirmations work best if you practice them daily. Then you can use your affirmation for a stressful moment as well. It also works if you use the affirmation just once, but I recommend practising daily affirmations more effectively. You could build up your affirmation ritual while you are showering in the morning, for example.
I like to use the following affirmation:
I am calm and relaxed and I beginn with one small step.
Create an energetically aligned plan
Typically, I plan too many things at once. If there is some space left in my calendar, I immediately fill it with another cool thing I want to do (and I want to do EVERYTHING…). The thing is that I’m interested in so many things that I have hard times choosing, and this sometimes creates too much pressure for me. Therefore, I developed an energetically aligned plan for my week. The plan mentions times when I am more tired and when I am too upset, e.g. reading. If I need it, I can adapt my plan daily, which fits my energy even better, and the best is that this technique increases my productivity while reducing pressure.
